Hey Chick, birthday card
So did your team win yesterday? I had watched the game thru to half time and moved on from there thinking the falcons had things taken care of, boy I was surprised in the morning. So my card today is using the new stamp set Hey Chick form the sale – a brations catalog, where you place a $50.00 order from any catalog and then you choose a free item form the Sale-a-brations catalog.
This chick stamp set is so fun to work with, as you can see by my card ole Lucy here is trying to break out of her pen. For this card I have a Basic Black cardstock 8.5 x 5.5 for the base.
Then I took a piece of Basic grey 5.25 x 4″ and embossed it with the new Hexagon Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, but first I took my Basic Black ink and ran it over the embossing folder on the side that the word Stampin up is printed on, then put my cardstock inside and ran thru the big shot. This gives you then the look of Chicken wire. After that I then took the 1 1/2″ circle punch and punched a hole out. On the back side of the grey cardstock I took a sponge and sponged with Basic grey all around the circle, and then cut slits in my circle cut area and so called peeled it back. After that was done I took another piece of 5.25 x 4″ cardstock and stamped my Lucy (my nickname for her) on the cardstock and colored her in with colored pencils and attached it to the BAsic grey cardstock and then onto the Basic Black card base. I stamped the sentiment from the stamp set in Basic Black ink on to the grey cardstock and punched it our with the new classic label punch and added a couple black candy dots (which are retired, you could use the new enamel shapes)
On the inside I stamped ole Lucy again and used the pencils to color her in, and then the sentiment is from the Balloon Adventures stamp set from the Occasions catalog. Also Lucy was stamped on the outside of the envelope flap. She just seems to be everywhere. Give Lucy a try, once you use her you will be hooked!
Have a great day!
