Gate Fold Card
My card today is using the Petals & Paisleys designer series paper to make these gate fold cards. My card base is Night of Navy or Cajun Craze, measuring 8.5 x 5.5″ and scored at 2 1/8,
and 6 3/8″. Take your bone folder and burnish the folds good so that your card will lay flat. Next you will need 2 – 1 7/8 x 5 1/4″ Pieces of cardstock and 2 – 1 3/4 x 5 1/8″ pieces of designer series paper. These pieces make the front panels. The band is 1″ x 11″ piece of cardstock, on these I took some of the stamps from the Paisleys & Posies stamp set and put them on my clear block arranged in the order I wanted them to stamp and stamped them in versa mark and then embossed with copper embossing powder. I then used the Paisley framelit dies to cut out the
base of the paisley design and stamped the smaller paisley design in versa mark and then embossed with copper embossing powder and die cut it and adhered the 2 together. When putting the band around your card, you will have some extra to trim off, tape the two ends together and put your paisley design on top.
The inside of the card, I took 2 pieces of designer series paper, cut 1 7/8 x 5 1/4″ and adhered them to the sides, and then my inside piece is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″. I stamped the flower in Black stazon ink and used my Blender pens to color the flower. I didnt add a sentiment to this card, as I want to leave it so that I can just write a Happy birthday message or whatever the need would be.
I know this card is a little more involved, but take your time and I think you will like your end result.
Thanks for dropping by.
