Lady Bug as a Bumblebee

Lady Bug as a Bumblebee

Happy Friday!

I’m working with the Hello Ladybug bundle today and we’re going to make it into a bumble bee!

We’re going to make a Fun fold card – I started out with a card base of 8.5 x 5.5 and scored at 4.25 for the fold. From that top Left corner of the fold to the bottom right corner, place in the track of your trimmer and cut off. So basically the front of the card is cut off at an angle. Then place the bottom angle in the trimmer and cut off about 1 1/2 to 1 3/4″ straight down. I then took that open flap and embossed with the Splatters embossing folder that comes with the duo Stripes & Splatters embossing folders. I then added a piece of DSP from the Pattern Party DSP 5.5 x 4.25 and attach to the front flap.

this is what the inside would look like with the DSP paper attached to the front. On the front of the card I die cut from Hippo & Friends dies using the largest in Basic Black and the next smaller in Crushed Curry. On the crushed curry one I stamped the flowers in black memento ink along with the greeting. Attached the 2 together. Before attaching to the card i added a 1″ strip of DSP, again using another piece from the Pattern Party DSP paper. Then attached my die cut pieces. Now for the bumble bees, in the Pattern Party paper there is a piece that has the black and white stripes, I took Daffodil Delight blend marker and colored the white strip. then just punched it out with the lady bug punch. The wings are punched from vellum paper, I took my bone folder and curled them and then attached to the lady bug piece with a glue dot directly in the center. I added a black matte embellishment on top so you couldnt see the glue dot. When attaching the bees to the card I used stampin dimensionals.

On the inside I added so more flowers in black ink and the greeting is from Flowing Flowers. I love that font and stamped in Crushed Curry ink.

I hope you are able to understand my directions for the cutting of this card base. It is so neat. Also, just another way to use the lady bug punch.

Have a great weekend and hope you are high and dry.
