Breast Cancer Awareness
Happy Friday Everyone!
As we all know October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This disease reared its ugly head with my younger sister this past February. She found the mass with a self check, just after having a mamogram last fall. She opted for a double mastectomy and good that she did, because when they sent them both away for testing, the other side was affected too. She has been thru 4 surgeries for removal and reconstruction and has one more coming in November to hopefully complete the reconstruction. She was very lucky and did not have to go thru chemo or radiation. She has endured a lot of pain from the reconstruction but she is strong and her faith is very deep. I pray still that she gets thru this and that one day there is no more Cancer out there. So this card is for my sister, and all the sisters, moms, grandmas, aunts and dear friends out there fighting this fight!!
My card is made with a lot of retired product, I usually do not do that – but it also is a card that I am sure you can duplicate with stamp sets and paper that you have in your stock. The card base is Blushing Bride 8.5 x 5.5 with a layer of gold foil 5.25 x 4 and then a layer of Love You Always DSP paper 3.75 x 5. The hearts are die cut from the Lots of heart bundle along with the little bird. I used the gold metallic ribbon for the bow. The embellishments are from the Pastel Pearls.
Have a wonderful weekend and Thank-you for stopping by.
