Some old with the new
I hope your day is off to a stampin start. My hydrangea tree is my inspiration for todays card. It just came into full bloom this week. The picture does not show the true colors as there is a little tint of pink to the flowers.
I am using the Hydrangea Haven bundle on this card. I am almost embarrassed to say, I bought this bundle a year ago last spring when it came out in the 2019-20 catalog and never opened it. It just kept getting pushed aside for other stamp bundles. What a mistake, its a great bundle. My card base is Very Vanilla 4.25 x 8 and scored at 5.5 for the fold. I took a piece of the DSP paper that came with the bundle and cut it at 4 x 4.25. Then using the new Basic Borders dies on page 162 in the catalog, using the round edge one, I die cut both pieces at the same time, so my curvature would somewhat match. I then attached that piece to the cardstock. I stamped the hydrangea in Blushing bride ink on to very vanilla cardstock and die cut it along with the piece that is just the flower top. I colored the leaves with soft seafoam blends. On the top piece that has the little flowers that you can puff out, I added just a hint of Blushing Bride with the blending brushes, and used a few glue dots to attach to the flower. It is off set by a smidge to give some dimension. I added a fussy bow made from bakers twine and attached with a glue dot. The greeting is from the In Bloom stamp set and stamped in black ink. Finished off the card with some leaves stamped in Soft Seafoam ink.
I love how this turned out, it just has a real soft look to it. Great for birthday, thinking of you etc. it will work for all occasion. What do you think? If you have this set and have not used it, you might want to give it a try.
Have a great day!
Thanks for stopping by.
