Home to Roost
Happy Friday everyone!
How many of you grew up with chickens and roosters? I grew up on a farm and every year my mom would get 200 chickens and roosters, there were the layers and then there was always about 25 roosters in the flock. Roosters come with a unique personality. Some really watch over and protect their hens. I remember us having this one rooster that would not let my sister near the hen house to gather eggs. He would come flying at her and one time got on to the back of her neck and was pecking at her head. He didnt get to do that stunt again as that week he was in the line up with butcher.
My card today starts off with an Early Espresso card base 8.5 x 5.5 and then I added a layer of crumb Cake that I embossed with the Pinewood Planks embossing folder. I then got out my new stitched rectangle framelits and the Wood textures 6 x6 DSP paper. I took 2 pieces and die cut them with the rectangle framelits. I also did a smaller size in Whisper white card stock. On the Whisper white card stock I stamped the wheat in Crumb Cake and then took my Mango Melody stampin blends marker and colored the tops of the wheat. My rooster I stamped on to whisper white card stock in black memento ink. I then used mango melody, real red, pumpkin pie, and crumb cake stampin blend markers to color him, and then fussy cut him out. I added stampin dimensionals to him and attached him to the whisper white. The wood textures pieces are attached with snail and the whisper white is attached with dimensionals. I then took a piece of Mango Melody card stock and die cut it with the narrowist of the rectangle shapes and stamped my sentiment in black ink. I added a corrugated heart shape with a glue dot. I hope you enjoy this card, it has brought back some fun memories for me.
Have a great weekend and I hope you get to get inky!
