Christmas Wednesday

Its Christmas Wednesday and today I am sharing with you a little gift bag that I made.  I love making gift bags, and boxes.  This little bag is bigger than you think and would help a lot of little items.  I got the dimensions from a fellow blogger: stampamore.  I started out with a piece of DSP paper 10 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Before scoring you want to decide which is your inside and which is your outside and also which side do you want to fold down as your top.  Once you have that decided then you are ready to start scoring.  Score on the long side at 1/2″, 4″, 5 1/2, and 9″.  Then turn the paper and score on the short side at 2″ and 7″.   The 2″ score is your fold over side for the top of the bag.  On the opposite end of the bag you will cut up to the score lines to make your box bottom.  Once I had it all taped together I then started decorating with the Alpine Sports thinlet dies and Alpine Adventure stamp set from the new Holiday catalog on page 11.  I stamped and die cut the snow shoes, soft suede ink onto whisper white card stock.   I die cut 2 snow flakes using the colorful seasons thinlets, one is soft suede and one in cherry cobbler.  Glued them together and added a pearl embellishment.  I then die cut a scalloped circle out of Cherry cobbler card stock and used the stitched framlit for the circle of whisper white.  I stamped the sentiment in Soft Suede ink on to the whisper white card stock.  I added a bow from the Festive Farmhouse cotton twine.  I then used my scallop punch to punch a circle in the top of the bag to use as a handle.  (when I  make this again I will use just the circle punch).  Its a cute bag and could be filled with candy, gift cards, jewelry, socks, etc. Would be great to put  on a co-workers desk, with some Christmas tags in it or some note cards.  Lots of uses, very versatile.

I hope you give this little bag a try, I’m sure you will like it.  Remember it is  never to early to get started on those Christmas projects.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you stop back on Friday.
