Masculine card
Hi Stampers!
Are you getting ready for a long weekend! I sure am, and hoping for less rain!!! My card today is one using a woodgrain look technique. This was really new to me, but I really like the end result. My card base is Smokey Slate, 5.5 x 8.5″, with a layer of Marina Mist 3 7/8 x 5 1/8″. The whisper white layer is 3.75 x 5″, I then took another piece of whisper white 3.75 x 5″,
and Scored it every 1/4″ on my scoring board. On the scoring is done, I took my Smokey Slate ink pad, and literally just dragged it down the entire piece of whisper white cardstock, dont worry if your card has some hit and misses with the ink, because next you are going to take your Marina Mist ink pad, and drag it down the cardstock. When you go to drag it make sure you are starting beyond the top of your cardstock so that you cover the entire sheet. Let that dry for a minute or two, and then you will cut it down to these measurements. Cut the panel in half, and then cut that half into 2 pieces of 1 3/4 x 2 1/4, and then the other panel into 1 3/4 x 1 3/4. This will then be your woodgrain floor look, Attach them to your other piece of whisper white cardstock, (3.75 x 5) as shown in the picture. You will then attach that piece to your Marina Mist cardstock. I also added a piece of DSP 3/4 x 3 3/4″ on the bottom, and that where I added some candy dots, and stamped my sentiment from the Teeny tiny wishes stamp set, in Basic Black ink. The squares in the middle are the from the layering squares framelits, One cut in Marina mist, and then the next one smaller in whisper white. I stamped the anchor in Crumb Cake. You could leave the sentiment off in the front and leave the card as is, and make for any occasion on the inside. The technique was fun and I’m real happy as how this turned out. Give it a try and Have fun with it!! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!. Have a great weekend, and hopefully it isnt raining where you are.
See you on Tuesday.
